Generac's iQ2000 portable inverter generator features one 120V, 20-amp, 5-20R duplex outlet. As a 50-amp load would exceed the amperage rating of power provided by two paralleled units via each model's duplex outlet and associated circuit breaker, we would not recommend attempting to power a load of this size via the use of a parallel kit. No generator exercise. We look out at the side of it - sure enough, the red light's on. Open the cover and the panel is showing an 'under. The yellow light is not flashing; it is solid. An overcrank fault should be a red light. The first mystery is why it is yellow. I looked on the log and it happened when we had power, so the generator should not have cranked. I have sent this question to Generac and applied to post at Ziller.
Hi and welcome to FixYa I am Kelly. Your red LED is telling you that it was 1. Has low voltage 3. Overheated or 4. Short in the powered circuit.
OVERLOAD LED (red): Lights up if the generator experiences a load greater than the rated output, low voltage, overheats or the powered circuit experiences a short. The output is stopped even though the engine keeps running. I do not know which of the 4 conditions caused your red light. If you have the read light with no load I would suspect low voltage from the generator / inverter. Breaking dawn 2 free. If it overheated you will also get the Red LED with no load. Thanks for choosing FixYa.
