How to declare a Constant array of array of Record in Delphi Hi, Let's suppose the following code, which is used as sample, that is to declare a Constant array of record. A look at 'array of const' for fun and profit Posted by Allen on Friday, 1 June 2007 in Blogs Back when Delphi was being developed we began to lament the lack of a function that would be able to format a string with format specifiers and some unknown number of parameters. You seem to be working in $H- mode (String= Shortstring), otherwise the code would go to the vtAnsistring case. As given the code does not compile in $H- mode, you have to change the two typecasts to String to use AnsiString instead: vtPChar: Result[i]:= AnsiString(A[i].VPChar); vtWideChar: Result[i]:= A[i].VWideChar; vtPWideChar: Result[i]:= A[i].VPWideChar^; vtAnsiString: Result[i]:= AnsiString(A[i].VAnsiString); This works in both $H- and $H+ mode, at least in D5.01. Since there is no 'temp' around anywhere in the code i posted i suppose you have modified it somewhere. Which may have broken it.
